Simon started playing men's cricket at the ripe old age of 8 in the Stow village team, which was made up purely from village residents, farm and estate workers. He left to play for Southery in the 80’s when he was 15 in divisions 3, 2 and then 1 of the West Norfolk league. He returned after Stow had re-formed and Southery had folded in the 90s and played both 1st and 2nd team cricket. He took over the captaincy in 2003 and steered the 2nds from W.Norfolk Div 4 up to Div 1 with successive promotions. Simon has seen many changes in his 30 odd years with Stow and HOPES to see many more before the boots are finally hung up! Away from cricket Simon enjoys gardening, fishing and spending time with his 6 grandchildren.
